Girls Schools Closing in Pakistan

Please watch this short documentary by The New York Times on the closing of girls' schools in Swat, Pakistan.

Also, cherish the opportunity you have to educate yourself! Teach all the young girls to stop complaining about school and be thankful for the chances they have that others are struggling, begging and praying for. Too many people complain about school, whether they're in elementary school or adults in college.

Ughhhhh! Okay I know generally the people who make plans there have the best itnerestes in mind, but its the men they send out to create order who are misbehaving. I have family in Afghanistan who deal with Taliban and the head men are not as mischievous as the ones who are out in the street, this is the problem.

Very sad indeed. Girls need to be educated, they are futue mothers and the essence of society!

It's really sad. So few girls actually get an education in Pakistan, especially in the poor villages. That's the main reason why the women-degrading culture is still very dominate in Pakistan. These girls are only taught what their parents have learned. It's just information passed from one generation to the next. It's not just secular education they lack it's also Islamic education.

I come from one of those villages and alhamdulillah the opportunities I have, I would have never dreamed of having if I was still living back home. alhamdulillah.

This is disturbing news. Education is the primary key to the gateway of immeasurable opportunities. People should cherish the moments of being able to pursue their studies.

With this view in mind, the school offers a comprehensive curriculum enabling students to deal with the present and prepare for the future. Emphasis is laid on communication skills, knowledge of the contemporary world, understanding of cultural heritage, development of moral values, environmental awareness, spirit of community service and physical fitness. These schools offer several career making courses for the girls. Girls schools courses are such as culinary, medical billing, interior design, nursing, and computer courses. The school organizes educational tours to historical and educational places within and outside the country. These tours inculcate a feeling of pride in the hearts of the students as India has a rich cultural history and heritage.
